The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has only been around for less than a month, yet one user who purchased the wearable has already run into some cosmetic issues, quite literally.
The user, who goes by the handle bimmerb0ii on Reddit, claims that the paint on the back of their Watch Ultra has already begun chipping away. For that matter, they’ve only been using it for a few days – they purchased the wearable on 19 July and kept it on their wrist until 24 July, when they removed it to charge it.

It was at this point that bimmerb0ii noticed found some paint at the back of the Watch Ultra had actually chipped away, reveal a fraction of the smartwatch’s metal chassis. To make things easier, we’ve circled the affected spot in the main image. One Redditor suggests that the residue is something called physical vapour deposition (PVD). That said, bimmerb0ii made clear that they “babied” the watch, never using it for sports or in the gym.
At this moment, there doesn’t appear to be anyone else experiencing this issue, but considering that the Watch Ultra now holds the crown as the most premium Android-based wearable at RM3,399, the development would certainly raise some concern over quality.
