Sharge is officially introducing a new versatile 100W Charging Station, designed to help organise your desk by combining multiple power entries into a single unit. The station features two AC sockets compatible with US-style plugs (no news on UK-style plugs yet), two 100W USB-C ports as well as another port for 65W, and an additional USB-A port, claiming it to be a modern solution for reducing cable clutter or even adjusting desk aesthetics.
Essentially, it bridges the gap between a compact multi-port USB charger and a traditional power strip, making it suitable for both laptops and devices requiring three-prong plugs but again, it’s currently for US-style plugs. Its compact design also allows it to fit neatly on a desk while providing ample power for your devices.
It’s important to note that if both 100W USB-C ports are being used simultaneously, one port will provide up to 65W while the other is limited to 35W. If all four USB ports are in use, each USB-C port is restricted to a maximum of 45W. The USB-A port, although not as powerful, supports up to 18W and offers compatibility with older charging cables that have not transitioned to USB-C.
The charging station is currently only available in the US via Sharge’s website for US$42.40 (~RM198), while local availability is still unconfirmed. However, the pricing does make it a potential option for those looking to simplify their charging setup or reduce desk clutter.
