The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 has been officially launched. Naturally, this means the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, being the top-specced member of the flagship family, is now under the spotlight for the industry’s poor plumbing. And it looks like the rumour mill has started churning, with details around its chipset, cameras, battery and charging rate.
Leakster Digital Chat Station has claimed on Chinese social media Weibo that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has “filed for domestic use”, according to machine translation. And from the filing, the claims is that the phone will be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, a 200MP main camera, accompanied by a “3x mid-focus” and a 5x periscope cameras. The battery will also be the usual 5,000mAh battery. Similarly, it will also retain its 45W charging rate.
Commenting on the last two points, Digital Chat Station says that this is quite far behind the norm, which is a fair assessment especially when compared to devices by Chinese brands. This is especially for charging rates, with triple-digit charging rates being not especially rare anymore. The leakster also claims that by next year, the standard battery capacity would hit 6,000mAh.
All that being said though, these claimed battery capacity and charging figures for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra have been consistent with the Ultra variants since the S20 generation. The one exception for the past five years is the S21 Ultra, which limited its charging rate down to 25W.
