Air Selangor has announced that seven regions in the state are currently experiencing unscheduled water supply disruption. The specific areas in question are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.
According to its official Facebook page, the disruption is caused by the temporary shutdown of four water treatment plants. They are the Rantau Panjang plant, as well as the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 through 3. These, in turn, have been shut down following what is described as “an odour pollution incident” at Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.
Water tankers have already been mobilised to the affected areas, with prioroty being given to “critical premises”. In the post, Air Selangor says that it “is taking every effort to minimise the impact of disruptions on affected users”.
At the time of writing, there is no estimated time as to when the water disruption will end. Instead, the utility company says that updates will be provided “progressively from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media”. Of course, its official social media channels are an option. Speaking of which, you can head to the Facebook post in question to see which specific areas in the aforementioned seven regions are affected.
