It seems that Huawei has decidedly pushed back the launch of its Nova 13 series smartphone, which was originally scheduled for August, in favour of what reports say is a foldable aptly called the Nova Flip. The is are gearing up to unveil its cheapest foldable phone, aiming to offer an affordable yet effective solution for the youthful audience.
While still unconfirmed, it is rumoured that Huawei plans to incorporates the Kirin 9010E chipset into the Nova Flip. This chip includes a CPU with a 2.19GHz Taishan core, two 2.18GHz Taishan cores, and three 1.55GHz Cortex-A510 cores, along with a Maleoon 910 GPU at 750MHz.
Beyond that, there’s little or next to no information about the Nova Flip, other than Huawei also allegedly plans on giving the the phone a bigger display that, again, would make it more appealing to consumers that value function over form.
Regarding the delayed Nova 13 series, rumours suggest the “Pro” and “Ultra” models may feature satellite connectivity. These devices could potentially share the flagship status of Huawei’s recently launched Pura 70 series but again, that is all hearsay at this stage.
