Maybank has announced a new update effective on 31 July 2024, where there will be a 12-hour cooling-off period for each adjustment in the money transfer limit via the Maybank2U website, which will be reflected on transactions on both Maybank2U website and MAE App. According to the bank, this measure aims to combat online banking fraud and prevent unauthorised increases in transaction limits.
Throughout this period, the transaction limit will remain unchanged, adhering to the current set limit for the entire 12-hour duration. Maybank notes that this upcoming change will impact their online services, including third-party transfers (Maybank to Maybank), interbank transfers (DuitNow and GIRO), as well as FPX and DuitNow online banking.
Take note that even with these changes performed, you can still make transfers within your current transfer limit. Additionally, you can still set up new transfer limits to your desire once the cooling-off period ends.
Thankfully, users will receive a notification from the MAE app or via SMS when the cooling-off period begins and ends. For further information regarding the transfer limit cooling-off period, please visit Maybank’s website via this link.
