In conjunction with the launch of the ROG Ally X in Malaysia, ASUS is also opening up preorders for its latest AMD Strix Point-powered gaming laptops. Specifically, its new AMD-tuned ROG Zephyrus G16 and the TUF Gaming A14.
Starting with the G16, the laptop still bears the same shell as its Intel-powered counterpart, the main and obvious difference being the Ryzen AI HX 370 that now powers this model. You also get the same 16-inch ROG Nebula OLED display panel, plus the same maximum 2.5K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. Oh, and it supports NVIDIA G-Sync too.
Other specifications include 32GB LPDDR5X-7500MHz RAM, up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 105W. For ports, you get USB4 instead of Thunderbolt 4, a USB-C 3.2 Gne2 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an SDCard reader. Powering it all up is a 90Whr battery.
Pricing for the Strix Point ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 starts at RM11,499 for the model with the RTX 4060 and 1TB SSD, while the SKU with the RTX 4070 and 2TB SSD will retail for RM13,499. Those who order either model will also get a ROG SLASH Hard Case luggage worth RM999, while stocks last.
The second Strix Point laptop, the TUF Gaming A14, will only be arriving in one configuration for the Malaysian market. The specs for that laptop include the same Ryzen AI HX 370 that features 12-cores, 24-threads mobile processor that is also equipped with the XDNA2 NPU. Other specifications include an RTX 4060 100W discrete GPU, 16GB LPDDR5X-7500MHz RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 storage, and a 73Whr battery. If its designation wasn’t already and obvious enough clue, the display is a 14-inch WQXGA IPS panel, with a refresh rate of 165Hz, and peak brightness of 400 nits and a 3ms GTG response time.
The Strix Point-powered TUF Gaming A14 will retail for RM7,599 and for its preorder bundle, customers will be able to redeem an ASUS TUF VG249Q3A gaming monitor worth RM755, while stocks last.
