Apple has recently unveiled a new Midnight colour option for the HomePod Mini. This new colourway is set to arrive for the local market tomorrow on 17 July 2024, with pre-orders now available via the company’s official website. The product is priced at RM529, which is the same as the existing options.
To recap, the HomePod Mini is 3.3-inches in size, featuring 100% recycled mesh fabric exterior and a backlit touch surface that illuminates from edge to edge. Despite its smaller size, Apple promises that the compact smart speaker can still deliver “big sound”, along with the ability to play over 100 million songs hosted on Apple Music.
Additionally, it can be paired with Apple TV 4K and comes with built-in Siri support. The latter offers convenient ways to manage everyday tasks and control smart homes simply through voice commands. These include creating smart home automations, getting notified when a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm is detected in their home, checking temperature and humidity in a room, and using Intercom to send an announcement throughout the house.
In case you missed it, the Apple HomePod Mini is also currently available in other colours such as yellow, orange, blue, and white. Meanwhile, the larger model, which offers all of the same features as the Mini but with spatial audio support and room sensing, is priced at RM1,549.
