ASUS recently launched its first ROG NUC. The new compact computing element marks the first appearance of a device under the sub-branding since it took over the NUC IP from Intel back in July last year, and is not to be confused with the NUC 14 Performance that launched this year.
If it wasn’t already obvious, the ROG NUC was designed and built with all the trappings and gamer aesthetics befitting of the brand. You’ll find the ROG logo emblazoned on to the side, complete with RGB, while the front of the NUC shows off the “ROG” branding, along with glowing read power button just off to the side.
Specs-wise, the ROG NUC comes with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, up to 64GB DDR5-5600 RAM, and enough space leftover to house up to three PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSDs. All this, inside a 2.5L chassis that is no wider than 18cm or thicker than 5cm.
For I/O, the front of the ROG NUC houses two USB-A 10Gbps ports, an SDCard reader, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. Around the back, you’ll find the HDMI 2.1 FRL port, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports, 1 Thunderbolt 4 port, a 2.5Gbps LAN port, two USB-A 10Gbps, and two USB-a 2.0 ports. For wireless connectivity, you’re looking at an Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E card and Bluetooth 5.3. As for power, the NUC comes with its own 330W adapter.
At the time of writing, ASUS Malaysia did not specify local pricing.
