To kick off its annual Unpacked event, Samsung gave the crowd what it initially teased at the start of the year: the Galaxy Ring. Unsurprisingly, it claims that its latest accessory is one of its greatest innovations in the world of healthcare and health monitoring.
The presentation was somewhat brief, so here are the broad strokes: the Galaxy Ring is made entirely from Titanium, has three sensors that constantly monitor your health, and also constantly stays connected to your Samsung Health app. In other words, 24/7 awareness of your health. Oh, and no subscription needed.
Other specifications include a 10ATM water resistance, allowing users to dive up to 100 metres underwater while wearing it. Naturally, it comes in nine size options, which is a relief for those with fingers that are thicker or fatter than the average human. Of course, it comes with its own uniquely designed charging case but on a full-charge, the Galaxy Ring has a lifespan of seven days of continuous use.
Samsung is offering the Galaxy Ring at an SRP of U$399 (~RM1,817) and as mentioned, it is offering the accessory without the need to further purchase a subscription with it.
As for whether or not we’ll be seeing it in Malaysia, Samsung confirmed to us that the brand currently has no intention of bringing into the country.
