In conjunction with the launch of its sixth generation Flip and Fold, Samsung also pulled back the veil from its Buds3 Series of earbuds. In this generation, the Korean brand is introducing two variants: a standard model and a Pro version.
When it comes to the subject of where Samsung drew inspiration for the new Buds3 series, these earbuds leave little to the imagination. Initially confirmed with a stealth buy of the Buds3 Pro, it’s clear that the Apple AirPods line was the template for both models.
Both the standard Buds3 and the Pro model use and elongated casing, a far cry from previous generation Buds models, while the earbuds even look somewhat identical to that of the fruit rival’s. Specs-wise, both earbuds feature Adaptive EQ and ANC.
Of course, there are difference between the two models. For example, the Buds3 comprise a 1-way 11mm Dynamic Driver, while the Pro variant houses an Enhanced 2-Way 10.5mm Dynamic and 6.1mm Planar drivers, to drive sound Samsung deems as Ultra High Quality audio.
As for battery life, Samsung says that the Buds3 will run up to five hours on a single charge with ANC turned on, and six hours turned off. The charging cradle carries up to an additional 30 hours.
For the Buds3 Pro, the earbuds can run for up to six hours with ANC on and seven hours turned off, while the charging case carries between 26 and 30 hours of extra juice. Depending how heavy-handed you are with ANC. Further, connectivity is conducted via Bluetooth 5.4 and because these are Samsung audio products, the earbuds primarily run using Samsung’s own proprietary SSC.
Samsung Malaysia is now taking preorders for the Galaxy Buds3 Series starting now until 30 July. Pricing starts at RM599 for the non-Pro, while the Pro edition retails at an SRP of RM999. Both are available in Grey or White. To sweeten the pot, those who preorder either earbuds will get a free Buds Case worth RM169, while stocks last. On that note, the design of the Buds Cases are subject to availability.
