AMD’s soon-to-be announced Ryzen 9 9900X desktop CPU has appeared on the online repository, Geekbench. And based on the performance report, the 12-core Zen5 processor is certainly faster than its predecessor and its direct rival from the blue team.
In the single-core test, the 9900X attained a score of 3,401 points, which stands at around 10% faster than the Intel Core i9-14900K and 16% faster than the current generation Zen4-powered 7900X. In the multi-core test, it scored 19,756 points, which is slightly slower than the blue team’s flagship SKU. One thing to note is that these benchmarks do not indicate if Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) was enabled.
As for when the 9900X will be coming, rumours point to an end of July launch. By that time, we should also know the other important details like its SRP. That, and the reviews for the CPUs to give us an idea of their performance in real-world applications.
