OPPO has officially unveiled a new phone in its A-series, the A3. It is the more affordable version of the A3 Pro and while it was previously rumoured to share the same specs as the Nord CE4 Lite, it turns out that it actually comes with even lower-end internals than the latter.
The phone sports a 6.7-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, the entry-level phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. For protection, it is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the imaging side, it features a 50MP main camera that lacks OIS, a depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter housed in the display cutout. Powering it is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W charging. Software-wise, it ships with ColorOS 14 based on Android 14.
The A3 comes in three colour options and retails with a starting price of CNY1,600 (~RM1,036) for the base trim with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. As of writing, it is unknown if the phone will make its way to the global market at a later date.
