realme has announced that its new C65 entry-level smartphone will be available officially in Malaysia tomorrow on 5 July 2024. As it turns out, the pricing that was likely unintentionally leaked early by a local distributor last week is accurate, as the brand itself confirmed that the phone is sold at RM699.
Here’s a quick recap of its specifications, in case you missed our prior coverage. The new realme C65 sports a 6.6-inch 720p LCD display, which features a resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and peak brightness of 625 nits. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a loudspeaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and is rated IP54 in terms of dust and water resistance.
Under its hood is a Mediatek Helio G85 chipset, which supports up to 4G only and is paired together with a single memory configuration consisting of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Additionally, it runs on Android 14 via realme UI 5.0, has dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC capabilities, and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
Imaging-wise, the entry-level model features a dual-camera setup comprising a 50MP primary and a 2MP macro lens. In front, housed within the punch-hole cutout on the display is an 8MP selfie snapper. While we’re still here, it should be noted that the screen also supports realme’s Mini Capsule, which functions somewhat similarly to Apple’s Dynamic Island feature.
The realme C65 is offered in either Starlight Purple or Starlight Black colourways, and will be available tomorrow via the brand’s official stores and authorised dealers nationwide, as well as its online stores on Lazada, Shopee and Tiktok. realme adds that those who purchase the phone on its first day of release are also entitled to receive a free pair of realme Buds 2 Neo while stocks last.
