We are a week away from the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. Both have already had significant leaks, including a possible spec sheet for both. More recently, frequent leakster @evleaks has shared what looks like complete screenshots of their official product pages. If these are accurate, then there’s truly nothing that’s left to the imagination, to be clarified next week.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, the spec sheet from this leak points at a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch outer screen with a new maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. As usual, the exact chipset is not mentioned, but it looks to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with the main core clocked up slightly. Only a 12GB + 512GB memory and storage configuration is listed here, though not surprising for this series.
Wireless support on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 includes Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6, and the battery is rated at 4,400mAh. Cameras are a 50MP + 12MP + 10MP combo at the back, a 10MP shooter in a punch-hole cutout on the secondary screen, and a 4MP unit under the main display. Pretty familiar setups compared to preceding models.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6, it has a 6.7-inch main screen and a 3.4-inch secondary display, a similar chipset to the Fold6, and now sports 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage space. The battery here is rated at 4,000mAh, and it sports the same wireless tech as the book-type foldable. Cameras here are more straightforward, with a 50MP + 12MP combo on the outside, and a 10MP shooter on the inside. Another major improvement here besides the main camera is the inclusion of a vapour chamber for cooling, a first for the series.
One major upgrade that both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 share is a new IP48 rating. On one hand, it’s a massive improvement when it comes to dust ingress protection as it didn’t previously have one. But on the other, most devices that even bother with an IP rating these days have their dust protection rating at 5, so there’s definitely room for improvement.
Assuming all of these are accurate, and will be confirmed next week during Unpacked, all that’s left from both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are their prices. And especially for the local market. No getting around waiting until they are officially announced for those.
