Pokemon, being the largest franchise in history, has had its name plastered on a wide range of products. The latest in its long list of collabs and tie-ins though is with premium cookware brand Le Creuset, which has announced its Pokemon Collection, which will be released in two phases, the first of which starts in the middle of next month.
While Le Creuset has not unveiled what will be part of the second phase, the brand has shown what will be available as part of the first. One item from the list the 18cm rice pot, which gets the Poke Ball motif in its relief and knob, and a yellow colourway with Pikachu’s tail on the pot itself. Embellished in a similar way is the 1.6l classic whistling kettle, but rather than just having Pikachu’s tail printed on its body, here you have the electric rodent running a lap around the kettle.
Then there’s the 22cm black marmite pot, with most of the Pokemon flavour being on the lid itself. Le Creuset says that there are prints of 23 Pocket Monsters, with the original three Starters, Pikachu, and Snorlax being highlighted. Also spotted on the lid are the four original types of Poke Ball. Coming in sets of five are the Le Creuset stacking 200ml mugs, 17cm plates and 11cm rice bowls. Once again, the five Pokemon mentioned above are seen here, with each pocket monster being printed on one of the five in the set.
Last in phase one of the Le Creuset Pokemon Collection are a set of a 25cm plate, a semi-circle plate and a round dish, coming in two varieties. One set is made to look like the base Poke Ball, while the other has the look of a Master Ball, albeit with a strange choice of purple hue being used.
As mentioned earlier, this first phase of the Le Creuset Pokemon Collection will become available in the middle of next month, or more specifically starting 17 July. The company has said that anyone interested can place their pre-orders at the Mid Valley Megamall outlet until 16 July.
Though as you’d expect from a luxury brand, these don’t come cheap. The rice pot and kettle mentioned above come with RM1,590 and RM560 price tags respectively, while the marmite pot will have an asking price of RM1,690. The mugs, plates and rice bowls that come in sets of five have their respective prices tagged at RM490, RM550 and RM490. And finally, the Poke Ball and Master Ball plate set both will cost RM340.
