nubia today has officially launched the base version of its Focus 5G smartphone series for the Malaysian market. Arriving a month after the Pro model‘s debut, the handset offers the same design language, chipset, and battery capacity as its sibling. However, it comes with a smaller display, one less sensor from its rear camera setup, a smaller sensor for its selfie shooter, and a slower charging rate.
To be more specific, the nubia Focus 5G comes with a 6.6-inch flat display with a punch-hole camera cutout and Live Island interactive hub feature, along with 1612 x 720 px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-sided glass, a DTS-enhanced loudspeaker, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Internally, powering the phone is the same Unisoc T760 5G chipset as the Focus Pro 5G, which is paired with 6GB RAM (expandable up to 16GB via virtual memory) and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. Its battery has a 5,000mAh capacity, supports 22.5W fast charging, and features AI power-saving technology to ensure power efficiency. Other than that, it comes with Android 14, as well as dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC wireless connectivity support.
As for imaging, the nubia Focus 5G offers a dual camera setup on its back, headlined by a 108MP primary sensor that’s supported by a 2MP depth sensor. In front, housed within the cutout on its display is an 8MP selfie camera.
The new nubia Focus 5G is priced at RM799 and is only offered in a black colourway. It is available now, and those interested can purchase the phone via the brand’s official online store on Shopee.
