Local wholesaler and retailer Mydin has recently launched its own e-wallet service, MydinPay. Available as an app for both iOS and Android devices, it supports DuitNow QR payments and displays transactions in real time, while also offering cashback and vouchers to shoppers at Mydin department stores nationwide
MydinPay is developed by WavPay and is currently exclusive to Malaysians, requiring users to complete an eKYC process during sign-up. The app offers two account tiers: the Entry Account with a maximum wallet size of RM3,000, and the Ultimate Account with a larger RM10,000 wallet size and additional features, including fund transfers.

As part of its launch promotion, the first 1,000 customers to sign up for MydinPay will receive RM5 that’s credited immediately without a minimum spend requirement. Additionally, customers spending at least RM150 in a single transaction at any Mydin outlet using the app will earn a 5% cashback (up to RM7.50). Keep in mind that this cashback offer is limited to the first 3,000 utilisations and is valid until 31 July 2024, while the RM5 credit promotion is only available until 30 June.
Reloading Mydin Pay’s e-wallet service can be done via online banking, with credit/debit card reload options listed as coming soon. To make payments, users simply need to tap on the Scan & Pay feature, and then select the wallet balance to use. The free RM5 credit mentioned earlier is stored separately and is restricted for use only at Mydin outlets and selected online merchants.
Beyond payments, the app offers a variety of services, including hotel and flight bookings, as well as parking, telco and utility bill and council payments. MydinPay is available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
