realme has officially launched its new GT 6 smartphone series, consisting of a high-end base model and a mid-range variant known as the GT 6T. The former, touted by the company as its flagship killer model, is powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, whereas the latter packs a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.
Starting with the realme GT 6, this model offers a curved 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1264 x 2780 pixels, 1 billion colours, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+, and a staggering peak brightness of 6000 nits. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, stereo speakers, and is rated at IP65 in terms of dust and water resistance. This model is available in Fluid Silver and Razor Green colourways.
Under its hood is the aforementioned Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is paired with an Adreno 735 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Meanwhile, keeping the lights on is a 5,800mAh (5,500mAh base + 300mAh power saving) battery with 120W fast charging support via USB-C, but no wireless charging capability. Other notable features include Android 14 via realme UI 5.0, and a slew of the brand’s NEXT AI features such as Gaming Eye Protection, as well as Smart Removal, Night Vision, and Smart Loop imaging tools.
Speaking of which, found on the back of the realme GT 6 is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor, a 50MP telephoto with up to 4x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide. In front, a 32MP selfie camera is housed within the display’s punch-hole cutout.
Next up is the mid-range realme GT 6T, which shares a lot of similarities with its high-end sibling in terms of design, battery size, colour options, and certain specifications. What sets it apart is its different chipset, a single memory configuration, and lower camera count.
To be more specific, this model features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, along with an Adreno 732 GPU as well as 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The realme GT 6T instead comes with a dual camera setup, comprising a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide.
The new realme GT 6 series is slated to be available for purchase in Malaysia tomorrow via realme brand stores and authorised dealers nationwide, as well as the company’s official online stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok. The base model is priced at RM2,599 for the 12GB + 256GB configuration and RM2,899 for the 16GB + 512GB, whereas the GT 6T is priced at RM2,399.
realme adds that to commemorate the series’ launch, customers who purchase the GT 6 from 21 June to 31 July are entitled to receive free gifts worth RM797 while stocks last. Meanwhile the GT 6T will be offered at a discounted price of only RM1,999 for a very limited time from 21 June to 27 June.
