OPPO has officially announced the local launch date for the new Reno12 series. The mid-range lineup is set to arrive on our shores on 27 June 2024 at 4PM, consisting of a base model as well as a Pro model.
As for the specs, it’s still unknown as to whether the company will bring the European or Chinese versions into the Malaysian market, as they differ by the chipset. In China, the Reno12 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 and the Pro gets a Dimensity 9200 chip, whereas both phones get the less powerful Dimensity 7300 Energy in Europe.
Either way, we know that the devices sport a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits — the vanilla model gets the usual curved side edges while the Pro has a mostly flat display with slight curves on all sides. The phones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W charging.
For imaging, the Chinese version of the Pro features a larger 50MP sensor while the European model gets the same main sensor as the non-Pro. It also packs a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the other hand, the Chinese Reno12 comes with a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide while the European version replaces the telephoto with a 2MP macro lens.
