With the sequel to the Nintendo Switch coming as soon as next year, every special edition version of the current generation, including any of its variants, would be seen as the last of its kind. We previously thought the Tears of the Kingdom Edition of the Switch OLED was the last, then came the Mario Red Edition of the same. Now, there’s one on the way for the Switch Lite, in conjunction with the upcoming game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Being a Nintendo Switch Lite, this special edition version of the handheld console hybrid looks a lot less segmented compared to the base and OLED models. Rather than just being black, the bezels around the screen now follows the colour of the device, which has the gold that you’d associate with The Legend of Zelda series. The buttons themselves remain black, and the front is mostly clean, besides a small Triforce logo beneath the right analogue stick.
It’s a bit more interesting at the back of this The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Edition of the Nintendo Switch Lite. For the most part, it’s the same gold-coloured slate, with the Hylian crest at the centre, with all the expected fine print at the bottom.
Unfortunately, as before the The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Edition of the Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t come with the game itself. For what it’s worth, both will be available on 26 September. No word on a price yet, but local retailers will likely share what this special edition handheld will be priced like when they get details on it.
