Nothing today has officially announced the launch date for the CMF Phone 1, the first ever smartphone to be released under its budget-friendly sub-brand. The event is scheduled to take place on 8 July 2024, and it looks like the handset won’t be debuting alone. As confirmed by the company, also appearing alongside it are the next-gen successors to CMF’s flagship earbuds and smartwatch.
With the latter two officially mentioned, CMF’s last teaser from last week now makes sense. In case you missed it, the Nothing sub-brand showcased brief glimpses of two dial mechanisms and a ring, which are now revealed to be components of the Phone 1, Buds Pro 2, and Watch Pro 2 respectively.
A wonderful turn of events.

Unfortunately, CMF’s latest teaser still doesn’t reveal much about all three devices, and it is anyone’s guess as to what each of these mechanisms actually do. Speculations include a multi-purpose dial that can control volume and other settings for the Phone 1, an accessory lock for the Buds Pro 2, and a rotating bezel for the Watch Pro 2.
Specifications are also a mystery for now, though prior leaks are suggesting that the CMF Phone 1 could feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek 7200 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging. It’s unlikely that it will come with a Glyph lighting system, but who knows?
As mentioned earlier, the upcoming CMF launch is slated to happen on 8 July at 5pm local time. Though unconfirmed, it is expected that the event will be broadcasted live via Nothing’s official YouTube and social media channels.
