Making an appearance at the launch event today alongside the laptop and two tablets is the Huawei FreeBuds 6i. Coming in as the latest entry in a relatively long line of TWS buds, it will be available early next month with the same asking price as its predecessor.
On the outside, the Huawei FreeBuds 6i looks pretty identical to the model that came before. And indeed, it also comes with a familiar IP54 rating that was also present with last year’s model. But while last year’s pair of TWS buds boasted hi-res sound, this year the company is pushing what it calls Super Bass.
With that in mind, the 10mm drivers from before have been swapped out for 11mm ones this time. Other improvements include battery life, with the buds themselves providing up to eight hours of use with ANC off. With the case, this now climbs up to 35 hours in total. Charging time has also been improved, with the company claiming now that you can get four hours of listening with 10 minutes of charging, compared to 15 minutes of the predecessor model.
As mentioned, the Huawei FreeBuds 6i has the same price tag as the FreeBuds 5i, which is RM399. While it is available for pre-order starting today, the pre-order window lasts until 6 July. It’s not yet listed in the company’s online retail outlets yet, at least at the time of writing, but you can find out more by visiting its official site, linked here.
