Just a day after Jabra announced that it would be winding down its Elite lineup of products, the company is announcing not one, but two pairs of Elite TWS earbuds. These earbuds are the Elite 8 Active and 10 Gen 2.
“Jabra has looked beyond the earbuds themselves, engineering the world’s first LE Audio smart case. With an innovative design featuring dual USB-C and 3.5mm jack compatibility, the Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 Gen 2 prioritize universal streaming and connectivity at the press of a button.”
The official press release states that the Elite 8 Active Gen 2 features improved Spatial Sound by Dolby Aduio, improved Adaptive Hybrid ANC – supposedly twice as strong as its predecessor – up to six microphones installed in them, with wind-protecting mesh and noise cancellation algorithm. It also has an IP54 rating for its charging case, while the earbuds themselves are rated at IP68.
Jabra says that the Elite 8 Active Gen 2 will give up to eight hours on a single charge, while the case carries an additional 24 hours, giving its a total of 32 hours of use.
Moving on, the Elite 10 Gen 2 shares many of the same improvements as the 8 Active, including the Spatial Sound but with this model, you get Dolby Head Tracking for the feature. Again, you get the same Jabra Advanced ANC, the same six-microphone technology, and 10mm drivers. In terms of battery, the earbuds last for six hours on a single-charge with ANC on, while the cradle carries an additional 21 hours.
The Elite 10 Gen 2 is also listed as having an IP57 rating although Jabra is unclear if that is for the earbuds, the casing, or both.
The Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 retails for US$229 (~RM1,077), while the 10 Gen 2 costs US$279 (~RM1,313). Both earbuds will be available from the middle of this month. At the time of writing, we still do not have local availability and pricing.
