vivo is gearing up to launch the V40 series and it seems at least one model will be making its way here. The vanilla variant has made an appearance on the SIRIM database ahead of its unveiling, indicating that it will be available here in the near future.
The device was certified by SIRIM on 5 June 2024 with the model number V2348. According to reports, the lineup is expected to be launched some time in August, meaning that it could be launching in Malaysia within six months of its predecessor’s arrival in the local market.
It is rumoured that both the V40 and V40 Pro will be rebranded versions of the S19 series that debuted in China last month. If this is true, then the vanilla model will likely a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and will be powered by a large 5,500mAh with support for 80W charging. On the imaging side, it may include a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie shooter. For software, it is predicted to ship with Android 14 out of the box and protection-wise, it will likely get the same IP68 rating for dust and water resistance as the S19.
