Yes has announced a new roaming pass specifically for those travelling around Asia. Dubbed Roam ASEAN Plus, the pass allows users to get roaming data across 11 countries in Southeast and East Asia at a very affordable price.
It starts from RM10 for a one-day pass with 1GB of high-speed data as well as RM20 for a three-day pass with 5GB and RM30 for a seven-day pass with 10GB. After the high-speed data quota is finished, users will still have “unlimited” data that is capped at only 512Kbps up until the validity of the respective pass expires.
The countries that are covered under the pass are Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. When you purchase it, you select a preferred date for activation and it can be done up to 30 days before the activation date. Interestingly, the telco offers free cancellations for the pass up to 24 hours before activation.
If you’re going to Singapore, however, there is a separate pass for travelling to the city-state with the same pricing and data quota as Roam ASEAN Plus. The Singaporean pass also includes free outgoing calls to Malaysian numbers as well as free incoming calls. This pass is free for subscribers of Yes’ Infinite postpaid plans.
