The Infinix Note 40 series of phones have been a confusing bunch, even when only three of the five variants are made available locally. And things are about to get even more convoluted, as the company has announced that it will soon be launching what it calls the Infinix Note 40 Series 5G Racing Edition.
As is common these days, the company has not revealed much in terms of details as to what we can expect from these Racing Edition versions of the phones. But since these have already been unveiled in other markets, it’s safe to say that we already know what to expect from them. As GSMArena reports, these are simply the same phones with the same internals as what was already launched.
Naturally, being a special edition of the phones, the Infinix Note 40 Series 5G Racing Edition comes with prettier back, sporting what is dubbed the “Wings of Speed” design. There’s a small bit of the blue, black and red stripes of BMW Motorsport on the camera bump, but the rest of the phone looks to have a metallic silver colourway to it. In a release sent to local press, the company also mentions UI elements “inspired by the racing circuit”, so there’s some software changes as well.
At any rate, the company says that the Infinix Note 40 Series 5G Racing Edition will be launched in Malaysia on 19 June. For now, it’s unclear if all five members of the series will be shipped here with the new clothes, or only the three that are already here will be getting the wardrobe makeover.
