Xiaomi subsidiary Redmi today has unveiled the new Redmi 13 smartphone for the Malaysian market. It is an entry-level device powered by a MediaTek chipset, and features a dual camera setup helmed by a 108MP primary sensor, among other things.
To start things off, the Redmi 13 sports a 6.79-inch display with 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution, 90Hz adaptive refresh rate, peak brightness of 550 nits, and features Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone itself also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a loudspeaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and is certified IP53 in water/dust resistance.
Powering it is a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra chipset, paired together with 8GB RAM (expandable up to 16GB via virtual memory) and 256GB storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD). The battery on the Redmi 13 has a capacity of 5,030mAh and supports 33W fast charging, which is claimed to allow for a 100% charge in just 62 minutes via a compatible charger. Additionally, the phone supports up to 4G connectivity, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
For imaging, the Redmi 13 comes with a dual camera setup on its back, comprising a 108MP primary shooter and a 2MP macro. In front, a 13MP selfie camera is housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display.
The all-new Redmi 13 is slated to hit store shelves starting 14 June 2024, priced at RM699 and available in four colourways: Midnight Black, Sandy Gold, Pearl Pink, and Ocean Blue. It will be available via Xiaomi’s website and physical stores, its official Shopee and Lazada stores, as well as authorised distributors nationwide.
