Xiaomi has quietly listed the Redmi A3x on its global website, unveiling the phone’s specs. The pricing and availability of the device have not been disclosed yet, but we can expect it to be released in the Malaysian market very soon given that it has already received SIRIM certification.
The A3x was listed on the SIRIM on 5 April 2024 with the model number 24048RN6CG. It is largely the same device as the A3, but with a downgraded chipset, meaning that it could potentially retail for even less than the RM429 price tag of its vanilla counterpart.
As for the specs, the A3x sports the same 6.71-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 500 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Underneath the chassis, you’ll find a Unisoc T603 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, although the Malaysian version could be offered with a different configuration.
It has a bare-minimum imaging setup with an 8MP primary lens and a depth sensor on the back along with a 5MP selfie camera up front. Powering the budget phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. On the connectivity side, it supports 4G, 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
