The Lamborghini Urus SE has officially entered the Malaysian market, bringing the model’s first plug-in hybrid powertrain six years after the local arrival of the original. Prior to this, the hybrid super SUV initially debuted at the Auto China Beijing 2024 event in April.
The hybrid Urus can be identified from the pure internal combustion engine (ICE) versions of before by a range of styling cues. Notably, the headlamps now feature daytime running lights that elegantly wrap around the main beam assembly, departing from the Y-design arrangement seen before. Front and rear bumpers have also been restyled, though the overall silhouette and wheel arches remain consistent.
The Urus SE also features a redesigned tailgate that now incorporates a spoiler, working aerodynamically with a revised rear diffuser to produce 35% more downforce compared to the S model. Buyers can customise various areas of the vehicle, including wheels offered in sizes ranging from 21 to 23 inches in diameter. Inside the cabin, the hybrid SUV boasts a pair of 12.3-inch displays as part of an updated infotainment system.
Under its hood, the Urus SE comes with a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 petrol engine that outputs 620PS and 800Nm of torque, which is notably lower than the base, S, and Performante variants. Complementing it is a single permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor, which is rated at 192PS and 483Nm, contributing a combined output of 800 PS and 950 Nm of torque. These figures propel the vehicle from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, with top speed reaching 312km/h.
Power is supplied from a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, housed between the boot floor and rear electronic limited-slip differential. Outputs continue to be sent to all four wheels.
Other features on the Urus SE includes an adjustable air suspension, which can be adjusted for ride height and stiffness as part of the available drive mode selection (Corsa, Strada, Sport, and Neve), Meanwhile, the hybrid driveline mode selection includes Hybrid, Recharge and EV Drive, the latter enabling pure e-motor running at up to 60 km.
Interested buyers can now book the new Urus SE through its authorised distributor in Malaysia, Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur. The hybrid super SUV starts from RM 1,028,000 before taxes, duties, and customisation.
