Back in February, PlayStation mentioned in a blog post that the Sony video games subsidiary is looking to make its PS VR2 headset compatible with PC. More recently, it looks like this may be done via an adapter, as spotted in the Radio Research Agency, a South Korean certification agency.
The discovery was first made by VR enthusiast Brad Lynch on X, previously Twitter. Unfortunately, the listing provides no additional information about this PS VR2 to PC adapter, other than the fact that it exists, has a model number, and is made in China.

To begin with, the PS VR2 simply works with the PS5 using a USB-C cable and HDMI, so on the surface, it sounds strange that pairing it with PC requires additional hardware. As mentioned in the initial report, there are enthusiasts who are already working on software solutions for this, but it’s otherwise unclear why an adapter is necessary.
While PlayStation has announced a more PC-friendly stance, the company has yet to make any such announcement about porting PS VR2 titles to PC, or indeed those of the predecessor PSVR. Unless that happens – and assuming the publisher’s games need its own hardware – the RM2,799 kit will be competing in the PC VR space with other headsets like the PICO 4 which was priced at RM1,699 at launch, or the US$500 (~RM2,352) Meta Quest 3.
At any rate, it remains to be seen when this PS VR2 to PC adapter is actually launching. Considering it’s being listed in May, the brand may actually achieve its target of doing so within the year after all.
