Local gaming outfit Illegear, during its 13th anniversary celebration today, has officially launched its second gaming desk, the Orion. Unlike its previous offering, this newer model is an automatic height-adjustable desk – yet another first for the company.
The overall build of the Orion is touted to consist of premium materials. Being an automatic height-adjustable desk, it features powered legs that can go as low as 60cm and as high as 124cm, in addition to supporting weight of up to 100kg. Measurements-wise, it comes in at 1500mm wide and 815mm deep.
Elevation is controlled via an interface that’s situated underneath the desk on the right-hand side, which also controls the surrounding, customisable RGB lighting system. Interestingly, the same controller uses keyboard-based mechanical switches and keycaps, with the latter can be swapped out with custom ones if the user wishes.
Other than that, the Orion has an adjustable rear flap which covers the hidden cable tray, an integrated power cord that’s discreetly located at the bottom of the right leg, and a built-in collision detection system that halts the motors if an obstruction is present. Also included are two detachable magnetic cable anchors for the metallic strip situated on the desk’s surface. Illegear promises to release even more accessories for the Orion in the coming months.
The new Orion is priced at RM2,999, and is available now via the brand’s showroom and website. Illegear says the desk will also be sold through its official stores on Lazada and Shopee, but at a later date.
