It looks like the gaming handheld market may be getting another contender from GPU maker Zotac. It’s called the ZONE and the brand will allegedly be showing it off during Computex next week.
As these things go, there isn’t a whole lot of detail to go about the ZONE. What is known, though, is that the gaming handheld is expected to feature a 7-inch AMOLED display. That’s a big deal, especially since its rivals, such as the ROG Ally, Legion Go, and MSI CLAW, are still bound to using LCD panels.
It is also been confirmed that, like the Ally and Go, the ZONE will be powered by an AMD Ryzen APU, but whether or not it is a Ryzen Z1 SoC or a beefier Strix Point variant of it, nobody knows.
What we can make out from the outlines of the ZONE in the teaser image is that the handheld will have two rear buttons, just like the Ally and Claw, and according to ComputerBase, “two-stage adjustable triggers”.
Computex 2024 is set to kick off next week, and given that we’re going to be on-site, we’ll try to get a hands on with the ZONE.
