The first whispers of Apple opening the first official store of its own dates all the way back to 2016, a good eight years ago. These rumours started becoming more credible when the first images on the store located at what is now called The Exchange TRX appeared on the Skyscraper City forum. This is then followed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reporting on a potential opening window within 2024. Now, the company has went ahead and provided a specific date for when it is finally happening.
Apple even set up a dedicated page on its local website for it, prompting people to pay it a visit when it happens. On the page, the bitten fruit brand says that its first official store in Malaysia will be opening on 22 June, at 10AM. For those who need a specific address of the store, here it is:
L1.40 The Exchange TRX
Persiaran TRX, Tun Razak Exchange
55188 Kuala Lumpur
If you are a hardcore enough fan of the brand and want to commemorate the opening of the outlet at The Exchange TRX, the aforementioned site even has a wallpaper that you can download and use on your Apple devices. That being said, these are nothing too elaborate – it features either the company’s logo, or the word “JOM”, but designed with a wavy, ripple-like motif reminiscent of the roof of the store itself.
By the way, in case you missed it, footage of the Apple store at The Exchange TRX was leaked back in March, giving us a good look of what it would look like, at least when empty. If you intend to visit the store yourself when it opens, feel free to do your own comparisons.
