Last year, ASUS announced that it was taking over Intel’s Next Unit of Computing (NUC) platform after the blue chipmaker announced that it was abandoning the product line, and what followed was the NUC 14 Pro and Pro+ in March this year. Recently, the Taiwan-based brand expanded its lineup with the NUC 14 Performance.
Specs-wise, the NUC 14 Performance can be fitted with either an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or Core Ultra 9 185H Meteor Lake CPU, up to 64GB DDR5-4400MHz RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070 discrete GPU. Based on the choice of processor, it’s clear that the last component is that of a laptop variant. What isn’t confirmed is the power limit for both the CPU and GPU, although its accompanying power supply is rated at 330W.
For ports, the rear of the NUC 14 Performance is fitted with two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, two USB-A 2.0 ports, one Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports, and an Intel 2.5Gb LAN port. At the front, you’re looking at an SD Express 8.0 Card Reader, two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, and the Audio jack combo port.
At the time of writing, ASUS hasn’t stated if it plans on launching the NUC 14 Performance in Malaysia and to that end, has yet to provide local pricing.
