Just this week we saw renders of what was claimed to be the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra floating around. Details beyond what can be observed from said renders have been minimal though. Now, Greek news site Techmaniacs reports that the watch will instead be called the Galaxy Watch X instead, and looking more like a competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra. Which may be another reason as to why the X is used instead.
Details aren’t exactly plentiful in this report, but it does claim that the Samsung Galaxy Watch X will be water resistant up to 100m, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra and its successor. That being said, while the bitten fruit brand doesn’t actually recommend you take its watch beyond 40m, it remains to be seen if this is something the South Korean tech giant will emulate.
The other detail the report mentions is the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Watch X, which is 100 hours, or slightly over four days. No mention of if this is achieved through a specific power plan, as the fruit brand’s watch only claims to last 36 hours with normal use, or 72 hours with low power mode.
Beyond the Samsung Galaxy Watch X, the report also makes a number of claims regarding the foldables that will also be unveiled during Unpacked. For one, the report claims that the Ultra model of the Galaxy Z Fold6 will only be appearing in 2025, alongside the S25. Ditto the more affordable version of the Z Flip6.
With all that being said, the machine translated version of the report also claims that the Unpacked event will be taking place on “24 June instead of 10 June”. The reasoning for this is so that the devices can be unveiled two days before the Olympic Games begin, though the issue is that the Games start on 26 July. Whether this is a translation error or a consistent error on the outlet’s part, this report, including the bits on the Samsung Galaxy Watch X, should be taken with a greater dose of salt than usual.
