OPPO has officially unveiled the Reno12 series in China, making it the latest mid-range lineup from the brand. Made up of two models, a vanilla and Pro variant, they are largely identical with the major difference being the chipsets used for the phones.
The two devices sport a 6.7-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass for protection, along with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Internally, the Reno12 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 processor while the Pro model gets a Dimensity 9200 Plus chip.
For imagine, they feature a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus — the base model uses a smaller primary sensor compared to the Pro’s. Powering the mid-rangers is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging, but no wireless charging.
The Reno12 gets a starting price of CNY2,700 (~RM1,756) while the Pro retails from CNY3,400 (~RM2,211). It is unknown when exactly the brand plans to bring the series into Malaysia, but we know that at least the Pro version is coming soon because of its recent SIRIM certification.
