Xiaomi recently launched the POCO Pad, the first tablet under the sub-brand, but it confirmed that the device was not coming to Malaysia. Oddly enough, despite that confirmation, we might actually see two tablets from the company sporting different badges in the local market.
Both the POCO Pad and the Redmi Pad Pro were listed in the SIRIM database on 7 May 2024 with the model numbers 2405CPCFBG and 2405CRPFDG respectively. The reason this is interesting is that the two tablets are supposedly the same device, just with different branding and colours. Given that to be the likely case, it would be quite odd for both products to launch here, but that is exactly what the SIRIM listings imply.
As for the specs, the POCO Pad features a 12.1-inch LCD tablet with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 600 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The back and front of the tablet contain 8MP cameras while on the software side, it ships with HyperOS based on Android 14. Powering it is a 10,000mAh tablet with support for 33W charging.
