Marshall has recently launched two new audio devices for the Malaysian market, namely the Major V mid-range headphones and the entry-level Minor IV earbuds. Being the latest iterations of both line-ups, both devices promise to deliver plenty of improvements over their respective predecessors.
The new Major V features a rugged and foldable design, and is promised to offer the brand’s iconic sound quality with reduced distortion for clearer audio. Onboard are 40mm dynamic drivers with a sensitivity of 106dB SPL and an impedance of 32ohm, delivering a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. The device itself is said to weigh 186 grams.
Features-wise, the headphones comes with a customisable M-control button that provides instant access to functions via the Marshall Bluetooth app; including Spotify Tap, EQ presets, or voice assistance. Additionally, the Major V supports Bluetooth LE Audio-ready, promising higher audio quality, increased streaming range, and improved audio sync for an enhanced listening experience.
According to Marshall, the headphones boast over 100 hours of wireless playtime on a single charge. Charging is done through USB-C and is claimed to take three hours for a full top-up, while wireless charging support is also available for added convenience.
Meanwhile, the Marshall Minor IV earbuds offer a redesigned look from its predecessor, promising superior comfort and improved water resistance. Under the hood are 12mm dynamic drivers with an impedance of 32ohm and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Each earbud is said to weigh 7.39 grams, while the charging case weighs 39.41 grams.
The Minor IV features enhanced control and customisation options, allowing users to easily manage playback and calls, connect to multiple devices simultaneously with Bluetooth multipoint connectivity, and personalise their sound using the Marshall app. Additionally, they are Bluetooth LE Audio-ready, promising future improvements in audio quality, streaming range, and sync.
Marshall says the earbuds provide seven hours of playtime on a single charge, with over 30 hours total when used together with the included case. A full recharge is claimed to take 1.1 hours for each bud, while the case on its own takes around two hours via USB-C.
The new Major V retails at RM779, while the Minor IV is priced at RM699. Both are available now via Marshall’s official online stores on Shopee and Lazada, as well as authorised local distributors such as Thunder Match Technology, CG Computers, Harvey Norman and many more.
