Earlier this month, Huawei unveiled a new tablet called the MatePad 11.5 S for the global market and it seems that it will be making its way here soon. We spotted the tablet on the SIRIM database, indicating an imminent Malaysian launch for the device.
The MatePad 11.5 S was listed with the model number TGR-W09 just last week on 17 May 2024. It is essentially a refresh of last year’s MatePad 11.5, offering an upgraded display with a bigger battery and a Kirin chipset instead of one from Qualcomm.
Specs-wise, the MatePad 11.5 S sports an 11.5-inch 2.8K LCD display with a higher refresh rate of 144Hz, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a PaperMatte Edition that has a finish that provides an anti-glare effect. It runs on an unspecified processor that is suspected to be a Kirin 9000W paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the software side, it ships with HarmonyOS 4.2.
For imaging, it feature a 13MP autofocus main camera on the back while the front gets an 8MP shooter. The tablet is powered by a larger 8,800mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. There is no word yet on when it will arrive in Malaysia but for reference, it has a starting price of EUR399 (~RM2,032) in Europe.
