Nothing has announced that it will soon be expanding ChatGPT integration into all of its older audio products, including those under its CMF sub-brand. The integration was introduced last month with the new Ear and Ear (a) earbuds, allowing users to pinch to bring up the AI voice assistant.
According to the company’s X post, the integration will be implemented into the Ear (1), Ear (2), Ear (Stick), CMF Buds, CMD Buds Neckband Pro, and CMF Buds Pro. It will come in the form of an update for the Nothing X app, which will be rolling out on 21 May 2024.
While the AI assistant seems interesting, keep in mind that you’ll need to use the earbuds together with a Phone (1), Phone (2), or Phone (2a) in order to be able to have access to the ChatGPT integration. The combo will provide you with the ability to use OpenAI’s AI model as both a voice assistant and a widget that you can interact with through text.
While this is good news for owners of the older earbuds, those who recently purchased the Ear and Ear (a) also have something to look forward to. Last month, CEO Carl Pei revealed that his company is working on an update for the new earphones that will improve their transparency mode following complaints from users about the feature.
