OPPO has officially announced the launch date for the Reno12 series, which is set to take place in China on 23 May 2024. The lineup will consist of two devices, namely the vanilla Reno12 as well as the Pro model.
From the teasers shown, the standard variant will come in a silver colourway while the Pro will get silver with a purple hue, with both phones sporting a metallic design. Even though the brand has not announced anything regarding the lineup’s availability in Malaysia yet, we can expect at least one of the phones to arrive here soon as we recently spotted the Pro in the SIRIM database.
Nothing has been confirmed for the phones’ specs, but according to leaks, the Reno12 Pro will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition along with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W charging. Additionally, it is expected to sport a 6.7-inch curved OLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate and can go up to 1,600 nits in terms of peak brightness. Imaging-wise, it is said to pack a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 50MP selfie shooter.
For the vanilla Reno12, it will allegedly feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 8250 processor and will also run on a 5,000mAh cell with 80W charging. Display-wise, it could will apparently have a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED screen. As for the optics setup, it is rumoured to carry a similar configuration to the Pro, but we’ll have to wait and see when it is officially unveiled.
