Last week, HMD unveiled a modern refresh of the classic Nokia 3210 feature phone to celebrate its 25th anniversary, complete with 4G connectivity and a USB-C charging port. The good news for those wanting to relieve the dumbphone nostalgia is that the reboot is now available in Malaysia, although there’s a caveat.
The 3210 can now be purchased through Nokia’s Shopee store, retailing at RM339.90 and ships in Scuba Blue, Grunge Black, and Y2K Gold colour options. Just like with the HMD Pulse, this phone is a global set that ships from China and only comes with a 12-month supplier warranty instead of a manufacturer warranty, so you’ll need to keep that in mind before buying it.
Aside from a sense of nostalgia, you’ll also get a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, support for FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0, as well as a good ol’ physical numeric pad. On the software side, the S30+ operating system has cloud apps for news, weather, and YouTube Shorts, so you’re not entirely bereft of modern amenities. Of course, the package wouldn’t be complete without the classic Snake game.
The reworked 3210 runs on a Unisoc T107 chip paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of expansion. Popping out the cover, you’ll find a 1,450mAh removable battery that offers up to 9.8 hours of talk time. In case you want to take some low-res photos, there’s even a 2MP camera on the back.
