vivo has unveiled three new flagship smartphones today, including the X100 Ultra as well as the X100s series, which are refreshes of last year’s X100 phones. The new smartphones are largely the same as their predecessors, but with an updated chipset, an improved IP rating, and a slightly new design for the vanilla model.
Both phones sport the same 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The vanilla variant is now thinner and gets a flat display instead of a curved one. Under the hood, they have the improved MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus chip, an upgrade over the regular 9300. The phones also get an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance as opposed to the IP68 rating of the previous models.
On the photography side, the Pro features the same camera setup as last year’s device, with a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with OIS and 4.3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Similarly, the vanilla X100s gets an identical imaging bump as its predecessor, made up of a smaller 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 64MP telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Powering the Pro is a large 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. On the other hand, the X100s uses a nominally upgraded 5,100mAh cell with slower 100W wired charging, compared to the X100’s 120W charging.
Both devices come in multiple configurations that max out at 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The X100s starts from CNY4,000 (~RM2,605) for the base trim while the Pro has a starting price of CNY5,000 (~RM3,257). As of writing, there’s no word on whether or not the phones will be coming to the Malaysian market.
