Of the leaks surrounding the vivo X100 Ultra, one key item on its supposed spec sheet was that it would sport a 200MP periscope zoom camera. Now that its launch is behind us, the company has confirmed that the leaks are accurate, which is a massive step up compared to the 64MP telephoto camera of the base model, and the 50MP Zeiss APO telephoto shooter in the Pro model.
This new periscope camera on the vivo X100 Ultra provides up to 3.7x optical zoom, and a 20x telephoto macro mode. Also included as part of the camera combo is the 50MP main camera which gets gimbal stabilisation, and a 50MP wide-angle camera. In front, sitting in a punch-hole cutout at the top of the display is another 50MP shooter.
The rest of the spec sheet of the vivo X100 Ultra include the aforementioned display, which is a 6.78 inches. AMOLED QHD+ curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Moving inside, the chipset here is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, as opposed to the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 on the base and Pro models. Powering the device is a 5,500mAh battery, which supports 80W wired and 30W wireless charging. In its home market at least, the phone also gets two-way satellite connectivity.
Unlike what was rumoured previously, the vivo X100 Ultra comes only in three configurations. These are 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB. They are priced at RMB6,499 (~RM4,236), RMB7,299 (~RM4,758) and RMB7,999 (~RM5,214) respectively. No word on a local launch yet. For what it’s worth, the base models took just under two months to arrive on our shores.
