Audio brand Sennheiser has announced a wide number of products in recent months, primarily from its Momentum and Accentum lines. Beyond these though, the company has another pair of headphones that it will soon be releasing into the market. This comes in the form of the Sennheiser HD 620S.
Overall, the Sennheiser HD 620S is an odd one. According to the announcement, the company made this pair of headphones for long-term comfort in mind. Another design choice for it is to provide sounds like open-back headphones without actually being one, giving the wearer a wider soundstaging without leakage from any direction. Of course, whether or not this is actually achieved remains to be seen, sans a review.
As for its spec sheet, the Sennheiser HD 620S has “reference-grade 42mm angled transducers with 38mm diaphragm”, a frequency response of 6Hz – 30kHz, a nominal impedance of 150 Ohms, and a weight of 670g. No battery life figures here, as it looks like this pair of headphones is of the old-school wired-only variety. This means no fancy features like ANC either. Instead, you get a 1.8m 3.5mm cable, with a screw-on 6.3mm adapter if you need it.
The Sennheiser HD 620S begins shipping on 6 June, though the announcement does not mention if this means a simultaneous worldwide availability. For what it’s worth, the local site does list a price of RM1,899 for the pair of headphones.
