CMF, the Nothing Sub-Brand, has launched a variety of mobile accessories, but it looks like may soon be announcing a phone of its own. The rumour mill currently dubs it the CMF Phone (1), with an understandable similarity to the parent brand’s naming convention. That being said, it is noted to also be more affordable than Nothing’s own affordable phone offering.
91mobiles cites sources in its claims of the CMF Phone (1), which starts off with a plastic body being paired with “some variant of Gorilla Glass protection”. The first half of this claim makes sense for a budget phone, at least. The screen supposedly getting this Gorilla Glass protection is also claimed to be a 6.5-inch display.
Inside, the CMF Phone (1) is also claimed to be running a MediaTek Dimensity 5G chipset, though no specific mention of any particular one. It may also be powered by a version of Nothing OS, but with some features trimmed out. And possibly the most defining feature – or lack thereof – on this device is the presence of a single camera at the back.
And finally, the report claims that this CMF Phone (1) will come with a price tag of INR12,000 (~RM682) which, if accurate, would be less than half of the Nothing Phone (2a)‘s asking price. Unfortunately, muddying the waters further is the report’s use of an image from Reddit, which comes with its own list of specs which are contrary to the report’s own. In short, an unhealthy amount of salt may be needed to pair with this rumour.
