It has been rumoured for awhile that the iPad Air 6 will come in two sizes. With the Let Loose event now behind us, Apple has confirmed that this is indeed the case, with the tablet now coming in 11- and 13-inch models. Which is nice, as 13 inches is definitely an easier measurement than 12.9 inches for the layperson.
Besides the new size option, the new generation of the iPad Air comes with surprisingly small changes. The first goes without saying, but it sees the chipset being upgraded from the M1 to the M2 chip. This translates to about 50% better performance over the previous generation model. It also works with the base Apple Pencil, as well as the Pro model announced during the stream.
The announcement also confirms that the iPad Air 6 comes with landscape-oriented front-facing camera, which is noted to be a 12MP shooter. This comes with all the prior camera tech that Apple has previously announced, primarily the Center Stage feature. The company also says that the larger model also comes with improved built-in speakers, at least on the bass department.
Both sizes of the iPad Air 6 comes with the same storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. If your choice is the smaller 11-inch model, these are priced at RM2,999, RM3,499, RM4,499 and RM5,499, respectively. The larger, 13-inch model, on the other hand, have their prices at RM3,999, RM4,499, RM5,499 and RM6,499, respectively. No word on local availability just yet though.
