Xiaomi introduced a new mid-range tablet under its Redmi sub-brand last month called the Pad Pro. While the brand has yet to announce a local launch, a recent listing of one of its accessories hints that it will be making its way to the Malaysian market soon.
The Pad Pro keyboard received SIRIM certification on 18 March 2024 with the model number 24042KBD5G. More than likely, this means that the tablet itself will also be available here in the near future. However, there are rumours that it will be rebranded as the POCO Pad for the global market, but given that the keyboard for it is using the Redmi moniker, that might not be the case for Malaysia.
In case you missed it, the Pad Pro sports a 12.2-inch 2.5K LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. Under the hood, the tablet runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
On the optics side, it gets an 8MP sensor on both the back and front. Powering the device is a 10,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging. Connectivity-wise, it supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack.
