vivo seems to have quietly listed the Y18 on its website this weekend, making it available to the Malaysian market. As rumoured, it seems to be very similar to the cheaper Y03 phone, but it comes with more RAM, a fingerprint scanner, as well as a better camera setup.
The Y18 comes equipped with a 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 840 nits. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and is paired with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a microSD card for storage expansion. For protection, it has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance with an anti-scratch back design.
On the imaging side, the entry-level device sports a 50MP main camera with a depth sensor alongside it, with an 8MP snapper on the front. Powering the budget phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging. Connectivity-wise, it supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.
The Y18 ships with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and comes in two colour options. It retails for RM599 and can be purchased through the brand’s online store as well as its Shopee and Lazada pages.
